‘Music on the Rocks’: A Celebration of Music and Camaraderie
The end of July 2019 was truly delightful for all of us because of this fundraising concert for the Prelature of Batanes entitled as “Music On the Rocks.”
Led by radio-TV priest host, Fr. Larry Faraon, along with other artists like The Company, Randy Santiago, Alonzo Muhlach, Lance Javier, and the Oasis of Love Band, came together to deliver a mix of a throwback, and inspirational music.
Highlighting the beauty of the breathtaking Batanes, the show is highly descriptive and engaging for the audience showing inspiration from several real-life events involving priesthood and community.
Under the inspired direction of our friend, Alaine Arambulo, she conveyed a breezy flowing and enjoyable show featuring memorable solos and collaborations of Fr. Larry Faraon.
“It was a different experience having to come from directing short films and documentaries. Handling yearly recollections was similar, but it was new being able to handle a concert. Being in charge of the concept and the direction, up to thinking of even the tiniest task, it gave me a great deal of learning. This concert also gave me the opportunity to explore the breathtaking Batanes. Not only to see the wonderful sights but also to see the simplicity and inner kindness of the locals,” shares Alaine.
It’s been a bittersweet yet insightful experience to be working with this benefit concert because during the same day at 4:16 AM a magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook the Batanes Islands.
Like the waves hitting the rocks cliffs and shores of paradise-like Batanes Islands, Music on the Rocks surely struck the hearts and cheers the audience. We are in one with Music on the Rocks and we will always pray for the safety of Batanes. We are grateful to be working with this team!
