Record-breaking band Boyce Avenue and Filipino hit-maker Moira Dela Torre headline a successful three-part concerts held in Manila, Cebu, and Davao recently. Presented by Wilbros Live, this year’s #BoyceAvenueWithMoira concert tour is perhaps the most memorable ones to date.
Known for their YouTube covers, both Boyce Avenue and Moira are also famous for their original songs and collaborations with different artists. The fans of Boyce Avenue are thrilled to see them touring the Philippines again, this time with Moira at such a superb timing.
The trio of brothers from Florida, namely – Alejandro (lead vocals, guitar, and piano), Fabian (guitar, vocals) and Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals) formed the band back in 2004. And in 2007, they started posting videos on YouTube sharing not only their original songs but also their distinctive acoustic covers with the world.
“We’ve been in the Philippines a lot of times, but we’ve never gotten to do a concert with somebody that’s local, honestly, who has a great voice and great talent. When the idea came up, we’re very excited; it’ll be different for the fans and it’ll be fun,” Boyce Avenue shares during press con at Novotel Manila.
Moira, on the other, is excited to perform with one of her influences. She revealed that Boyce Avenue is among her most streamed artists during her early years on YouTube.
“They have inspired me a lot as an artist, as a YouTuber, as a singer; to be persistent with my music and to make it my own. To be having a concert with them is surreal and I am very excited,” Moira enthuses with the media.
Moira herself has massively increased her popularity with her song “Malaya,” a theme song from the movie “Camp Sawi” that earned her the name as “movie soundtrack queen of this generation”. Her most recent, the song “Tagpuan” for the Star Cinema 25th anniversary first film offering “Kasal” has already become a new favourite among Pinoy movie fans.
Hopeless romantics and even the broken-hearted can’t get enough of her other hugot renditions of “Torete” and “Sundo”, as well as other songs such as Huling Gabi”, “Kita Na Kita.” and “Saglit” among others.
The possible future collaborations between Boyce Avenue and Moira are what inspire fans at the moment. “We actually have to work out the timing. She’s very busy. We’re very busy. Obviously, we’ve got a vast ocean separating us but if we could find a way to put it together, we would like to,” unveils Daniel regarding the possible collaborations of the acoustic royalties after their back to back concert.
“Her voice has the passion that brings her music well with what we do so maybe someday and it’s something we’re very excited about,” he added.
That afternoon, we are also delighted to know about Moira’s career going international.
“As far as Moira is concerned, I think that she can make it because she has the honesty and the genuine emotion out for her songs. It’s also one of the biggest reasons that we’ve been able to do well internationally. People all over the world want to see that genuine emotion, so we’re excited to see what happens with her career. It’s going to be incredible,” Fabian relays his support to Moira on these plans.
Boyce Avenue and Moira exude undeniable chemistry allowing us a comfortable and chilled out press con. We are again glad to be part of Ms. Grace’s media team.
